Join the SAA Listserv!

The Society of American Archivists Student Chapter at Wayne State University has created an electronic discussion list. This list is called SAALIST and is open to any students, faculty or staff interested in the archival field.  This list will be an especially important communication device for the SAA members, and will include job postings, the latest SAA announcements and information, member discussions, articles, upcoming events and other professional opportunities.  A digest of SAALIST is available for those worried about filling their e-mail boxes.

Please keep in mind that by sending e-mail to SAALIST, you will be sending email to everyone who has subscribed to the listserv.   If you want to respond to someone's message privately, do not click REPLY -- replying to a message sent out through the listserv will send your response to everyone subscribed to SAALIST.  If you do not want to send your response to everyone subscribed to the listserv, be sure that you are sending the message to a specific person or people, rather than SAALIST@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU.  Download the full instructions for sending e-mail via SAALIST here.

To Subscribe

• Send an e-mail message to LISTSERV@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU
• Leave the subject line blank
• In the body of the message type "subscribe saalist" (no quotation marks) along with your firstname and your lastname
• Send the e-mail
• A follow-up welcome message will be sent to the e-mail address used when subscribing
• Retain a paper copy of the welcome message that explains the commands
  available and outlines the polices that apply to that listserv
